[Quick thought] The higher you get, the thinner the air.

Quick food for thought about gender dynamics and the sexual marketplace.

“Every female wants her male intimate partner to be of higher value than her and every other male she perceives is in her reach of attracting.”

This is the hypergamous nature of female dating ambitions. It’s not idealistic, it’s opportunistic and relative to her needs at the time.

Two important stretches:

No.1: Her hypergamous nature is relative. Despite her 50 shades of grey fantasies, she understands that she can’t go for the Barack-Obama-James-Bond-Ryan-Gosling-Hyprid without her assets backing that up.

No.2: Downwards is no choice. If she perceives a guy is of socio-economic lower value than she herself is, the guy is no (satisfying) option. It does happen a lot though, especially with aging women, but it’s a compromise that usually back fires at some point in form of a divorce.

A great example of this behavior pattern is the current, proactive media exposure of Miley Cyrus. It’s a rampage of sluttiness, sexually provocative gestures, nude skin and a lot of tongue. She behaves like a whore and “shocks” the public with one scandal after another. Of course, I understand that we live in modern media Internet days. So one part of this is PR advice that helps to get attention and make everybody around her brand earn more money. The Internet has morphed into one big signal-to-noise problem. So more and more drastic measures are necessary to cut through the noise.

Another part that’s mostly overlooked is her personal motivation that goes beyond making money. Her tremendous success and rise to stardom has put her on top of the value chain, so most guys she is exposed to are blatantly labeled as lower value by her hypergamous instincts. This is a HUGE conflict for a girl that’s used to having it all whenever she pleases.

All those videos, stage stunts and Terry richardson photoshoots come with a personal subtext of a 21 year old girl with fully functioning genitals, that’s run into a massive problem:

The higher you get, the thinner the air.

All those scandals are a shit-test broadcasted on a macro-level to screen for her desired champ.

“I behave like a shameless whore, until the apex alpha I desire comes along and FUCKS me into place.”

In a world of exploding noise, the signal has to be more and more blatant to get through. That’s the main reason of the ongoing sexualization of advertising and branding.

Miley Cyrus will either be successful at attracting her desired alpha guy soon or she will amp up her efforts in an even more explicit and frequent manner. Every scandal of hers increased so far in its amount of NSFW material. The recent photoshoot with Richardson exposed her nipples for the first time. The air gets thinner. So, the next steps will be a private sex tape leak to leave no doubts about her mating qualities and eventually misbehavior under the influence a la Lindsay Lohan.

I also predict, that her next boyfriend will have to have similar qualities in broadcasting sexual market value in the PR bubble she perceives as reality. This means either black athlete or white, inked up rapper/actor.

Female sexual market value, ideally is like a comet. It burns bright and hot with great speed to outperform competition, but it extinguishes rather quick and vanishes into nothingness, which is desired if the impact location (the best guy relative to her assets) is right.

Male sexual market value, ideally is like a volcano. Always active, always dangerous. Increasing threat over time. Can explode if necessary, but doesn’t have to. No loss in threat levels after explosion.

(Note: This post originally appeared on my now closed Tumblr blog, which was intentioned to be the place for my shorter thoughts and ideas. After reading Gary Vaynerchuck’s new book “Jab, jab, jab, right hook” I’ve come to the conclusion that I wasn’t speaking the right slang for Tumblr and therefore re-imported those posts here as I still find them valuable as food for thought. I hope you enjoy those, too.)
