I stumbled upon this interesting arcticle last weekend by Fessler/Navarrete.
A few quotes:
- “Two hypotheses were tested, namely (i) sexual disgust is an adaptation that serves to reduce participation in biologically suboptimal sexual behaviors […]”
- “Hypothesis (i) was supported, as
- disgust sensitivity in the sexual domain, and only in the sexual domain, was positively correlated with
- presumed conception risk as assessed on the basis of self-reported position in the menstrual cycle.”
So basically a woman’s attraction and disgust sensitivity to suitors and aberrant sexual behaviour changes the closer she gets to a presumed conception.
The more fertile, the less tolerant a female becomes towards beta males. Interesting.
Hypergamy in action.
(Note: This post originally appeared on my now closed Tumblr blog, which was intentioned to be the place for my shorter thoughts and ideas. After reading Gary Vaynerchuck’s new book “Jab, jab, jab, right hook” I’ve come to the conclusion that I wasn’t speaking the right slang for Tumblr and therefore re-imported those posts here as I still find them valuable as food for thought. I hope you enjoy those, too.)
